New Business:
Mike Caggiano with SCMRCD
advised State Forestry is looking for another large block to
be thinned in Sacramento Units 1, 2 and 3 in Timberon. TDC
completed a block mailing to 39 landowners in these units on
Friday, January 10th.
The Timberon fire DVD along with the notice was mailed. The
cost for the mailing will be compiled and submitted to the
SCMRCD, South Central Mountain Resource and Conservation
Development, for a refund. Rick Merrick advised TDC will be
responsible for recommending one of the two contractors who
will be thinning the property for this block thinning project.
Rick Merrick advised he is a
board member of a five board member committee looking into Bio
Mass. Bio Mass is anything green ie. slash and instead of
burning it what can it be used for? There is a plant in
Ruidoso which the byproduct is diesel and electricity. It was
mentioned there are 23 tons of slash per acre. The committee
is in the process of compiling Articles of Incorporation and
looking into being a co-op. TDC may be asked to do more in the
way of bio mass in the future.
Rick Merrick gave an update on
the present status of the Timberon Water and Sanitation
District. He will check with the TWSD Board and see if there
is anything that TDC can do to help them.
Jackie Fioretti advised the
annual audit of the TDC books needs to be completed by the
February meeting. After discussion it was agreed Don Coburn
and Kent Huisingh will complete the audit. The forms for doing
this was given to the committee.
Jackie Fioretti advised
property was donated to TDC by Mr. Flynn Long. The property
has been recorded at the Otero County Court House and we are
ready to accept bids. The property is in the Timberon
Subdivision Unit 3, Block 57, Lot 3 and is 1.05 acres. She
will contact the Web Master so it can be put on the web
site.

TDC. After discussion it was agreed we would accept his lot
and Jackie will contact him.

on the bulletin board.
Business Outreach – The
